Interface Atlas

Theme 06 Blueprint Draft 0.1.0

A reference, ready to inspect

Blueprint

Clear lines, confident blue, and the structure behind the surface. A visual language for making complex ideas easier to follow.

System reduced-motion preferences take priority.

Controls become available when JavaScript runs.

01 / An interface-systems study

Fictional briefs · Original static artwork

Linework Interface systems studio

See the
system.
Shape it.

A useful interface begins before its first screen. Name the parts, make their relationships visible, and give every decision a place.

Explore the studio briefs

Linework and its projects are fictional design studies.

Surface, behavior, and structure. One interface, seen in layers.

A clear method

Draw the parts.
Name the links.

Our fictional briefs turn a broad question into something you can inspect: a shared library, a readable map, or a review with a clear next step.

Explore the preparation map

Three systems to clarify.

Open a brief to read the design intention.

Shared foundations

One language, many screens

A component library where choices have names, roles, and useful boundaries.

Read the library brief

Begin with a small set of repeated decisions: surface, type, spacing, and control state. Name each by its role, then test the same vocabulary in two different layouts. This is a fictional design intention; no adoption or delivery outcome is claimed.

Relationships & scope

A map you can read

Make a system understandable before asking someone to change it.

Read the map brief

Choose one level of detail. Give each part a concise purpose, then label what moves between parts. Add a plain-language outline so the relationships remain available without spatial interpretation. This is a fictional architecture-presentation study.

Decisions & handoff

The next step is visible

Keep the decision, its evidence, and the person reviewing it in the same view.

Read the review brief

Show what changed, which questions remain, and what a reviewer can decide. Describe an incomplete result as incomplete. Keep the surrounding context in place when a detail opens. This is a fictional review-flow study; no real approval is requested.

02 / An architecture inspector

Local example · Five fixed nodes

Preparation,
made visible.

A conceptual map of preparing a project's frontend design document. Inspect each part and follow its relationships. This example does not generate a document or run an agent.

The same five nodes and labeled relationships appear in both presentations.

With JavaScript off, all five detail articles remain readable below. Presentation and navigation controls are unavailable; Inspect links still work.

Reading · Current detail

At narrow widths, nodes form a reading-order outline. The relationship table preserves each connection.

What connects the parts.

Four directed relationships, written out.

Purpose & boundaries

01 / Input

Project brief

Start with the project you are actually building.

The brief describes who the interface serves, what those people need to do, and which constraints matter. Include the project type, intended platforms, languages, existing brand decisions, and the most important user journeys.

Receives
Project context and human priorities
Provides
Context and constraints for Design preparation
Boundary
An input, not an approval or a generated design

Illustrative example: a bilingual developer portfolio that needs clear case studies and accessible navigation.

02 / Library

Theme catalog

Choose knowledge that fits the project's purpose.

Use a theme's summary to shortlist a visual direction. Read its design rules, then load only the effects, motion, and shared knowledge the project needs. Keep the source creator and revision attached to the decisions you take forward.

Receives
Theme entries and source records
Provides
Selected, credited design knowledge for Design preparation
Boundary
A knowledge library, not a bundle to load for every task

Illustrative example: compare Blueprint's technical language with Editorial's narrative reading rhythm.

03 / Concept

Design preparation

Turn the selected direction into concrete project decisions.

This conceptual step combines the brief with selected knowledge. It specifies type, hierarchy, layout, color roles, component states, responsive behavior, and interaction flows. Document adaptations explicitly and keep unresolved choices visible for review.

Receives
Project brief and selected Theme catalog knowledge
Provides
Design decisions for the Project design.md
Boundary
A described preparation step; no agent runs in this preview

Illustrative example: choose Blueprint's geometry while preserving comfortable body typography for case-study reading.

04 / Artifact

Project design.md

Give implementation a document it can use on its own.

The project document records the chosen direction and the rules necessary to build it. Include the selected tokens, key layouts, user flows, motion constraints, accessibility requirements, validation expectations, and source credits. Distinguish retained rules from project adaptations.

Receives
Explicit decisions from Design preparation
Provides
Decisions and open questions for Human review
Boundary
An illustrative artifact in this map; no file is created here

Illustrative example: a project-specific document with source credits that implementation can consult without loading the full Atlas.

05 / Decision

Human review

Make the next decision visible to the person responsible.

Review whether the document fits the brief, explains its adaptations, and gives enough guidance for implementation. Identify missing evidence and unresolved choices. A reviewed design still needs to be tested in the actual project.

Receives
The Project design.md and its open questions
Provides
A next decision for the real project workflow
Boundary
No approval is recorded and no external action is taken

Illustrative example: revise the reading measure before accepting the project's design direction.

03 / A working palette

Comfortable density · 24px panel inset

A consistent
set of parts.

Type, controls, and state language in a small component study. Density changes this specimen's insets, leaving the studio and architecture inspector unchanged.

Visual samples only; these buttons have no task to perform.

Editable text specimen. Its value stays on this page.

Ready for review. The design intention is documented.
Context matters. Keep the scope and assumptions visible.

Warning specimen: this decision needs more evidence.

Error specimen: explain which information is missing.

Information specimen: the map describes a conceptual flow.

Type & language
